“I’ve never been to your theatre. Can you tell me what you do?”
Desert Star has two stages where we present live theatrical productions.

In the original Desert Star Playhouse we specialize in musical comedy melodramas. Our seating is cabaret-style, with a complimentary basket of popcorn at each table. You can order pizza, veggie trays and other finger foods, soft drinks and a variety of desserts. All food is optional and not included in the ticket price.

In our Dinner Theatre we present musical comedies or musical revues. Our elegant dinner buffet may be purchased before the show but the meal is optional (except during the Christmas show). We also have a full bar menu in the Dinner Theatre.

"Are your shows suitable for children?”
All of our shows are intended for the whole family; however, we do not recommend it for children under 5 years old. Babes in arms are not permitted.

"If my baby and sits on my lap, do I have to pay for him/her?”

Everyone who attends the performance must have a paid seat. We do not recommend bringing children under 5 years of age. We have found from past experience that most small children must be taken out frequently during the show and this can be quite frustrating for the parent, the child and those other patrons sitting around you.

"What time do your shows start?"
Show times vary. Click here to see a complete list of show times and prices.

"How do I purchase tickets?"
Tickets may be purchased over the phone with a credit card, or at the box office with cash or a credit card. Unfortunately, we no longer accept personal checks. On-line purchasing is not available.

“Can you hold tickets for me and I will pay cash for the tickets when I get there?”
We can't hold tickets; however, you can purchase the tickets with your credit card and then come in and pay cash. If you come into the box office before 9 PM the same day, you can pay cash and the charge will not go through on your credit card.

"What are your box office hours?"
The box office is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.

“If I purchase tickets over the phone, will you mail the tickets to me?”
If you need to make a change later to your reservation and your tickets are in the box office, you can simply call us and make the change over the phone. For this reason, we don’t normally mail tickets. You can pick up your tickets at the box office on the night of the show.

"Are alcoholic beverages available in your theatres?"
We do not serve alcohol at this time in either theatre.

"Do you have gift certificates?”
Yes! Gift certicates may be purchased at the box office in any denomination.

“If we pay for tickets but are unable to use them, can we get a refund?”
We don’t give refunds; however, if you call at least 48 hours before the performance we can exchange your tickets for another performance. If you have your tickets in hand you must bring them to the box office no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled date to exchange them for another performance.
If you do not wish to move the tickets to another date we can give you an in-house credit to use at a later date. When you want to use it, simply give us a call.

“Does the theatre rent costumes or props to wards or individuals?”
At this time we do not.

“Will you donate tickets to our charitable organization or company function?”

You will need to send your request in writing on your organization’s letterhead (we do not accept requests by fax). We consider requests on a case-by-case basis. Desert Star receives multiple requests each week for charitable donations. We regret that we are not able to honor every request.

“What are the food options in the Dinner Theatre?”
Currently, we offer a buffet for Dinner Theatre patrons. Our buffet may vary each night. It features a combination of salads, entrees, vegetables, pasta, rolls, potatoes, and a variety of desserts. Sparkling lemonade, coffee or tea are also included. Other beverages may be purchased from your server.

“Do you offer season tickets?”
Yes! Season Tickets are available for the Desert Star Playhouse. Season passes are not available for the Dinner Theatre as this time.

“Can we bring food in with us to watch the show?”
Bringing outside food is not permissible, but we offer a variety of delectable foods in each theatre. You can order pizza, ice cream, finger foods and soft drinks in the Playhouse. Our dinner buffet is available in the Dinner Theatre. If you are celebrating a birthday, you may bring a birthday cake, but we cannot provide plates or forks, and candles are a violation of the fire code.

“Can I pay for tickets by mail?”

Yes. When you mail in your money, give us a choice of nights and we will make the reservations and give you the best available seating. Also include your name, address and phone number and we will call and confirm the information. Unfortunately, we no longer accept personal checks.

“Can I arrange for a performance to come to our business, church or school function?”
Regretfully, it is not feasible. We are unable to relocate scenery, props, etc., and many of our actors have day jobs.

“Can I use my Playhouse Season Tickets towards a show in the Dinner Theatre?”
The Season Pass tickets may only be used for Playhouse shows, and are not transferrable.
